The Quilt

Back in August I was like exploding with a desire to create a quilt! I’ve never done that before, didn’t read any book, didn’t do any course, but the wish was overwhelming. So I went through pins on the pinterest to figure out what pattern I actually want, so I came across some zick-zack quilt made out of triangles.

So here it is! It took me about 3 months to make it. Mostly because I am working full time and have only some hours during the week to work on it. And of course I had to learn doing so many things, like cutting out triangles, sewing them all in one piece, layering the quilt, sewing it all together, hand binding it.. Uff.. But I am so happy with the result!
It measures 200×150 cm.

Project Life | Week 11

I am back from my vacation in Mallorca!
Before I went there there was no time to post pictures from my PL spread, but now I can finally do it 🙂

I like a lot how it turned out, especially worth to mention – I had lots of fun while creating it!
I’ve noticed that every second weekly spread I like a lot, and with the ones in between I am not that satisfied 🙂 You know, like love-hate-love-hate.

Today I am happy that I have managed to document all these weeks! Not sure what comes in the future – I am just grateful for the today.

I adore those bright colors that I’ve used! It’s so springy and lovely, although you can see from the photos that it was really cold and snowy 🙂

smallweek11

I was so tired when I was making photos that realized only later that I forgot to include my journaling! You can see for yourself, many spaces are empty lol ))) So I filled them in later, but didn’t retake pictures.
I had fun with Studio Calico bubble stickers: I was inspired by my instagram friend who printed out a journaling card from SC 🙂 Such a great way of using those stickers!

Here I was happy to use pie charts for a real pure business event! 🙂

The right part of my spread documents the creative part of my life, what I have made during this week.

And this is my highlight of the spread! Lovely card I’ve created using mistable butterflies. It supposed to say “I heart hand made” 🙂 But the only heart I’ve got at home was this yellow button, which is not so obvious.. oh well 🙂
But now I know what I am missing in my scrapbooking supplies – hearts embellishment!

Looks like I have some weeks to catch up, weeks 12 and 13 are missing. And I have bazillion of pictures and sketches from vacation to print/include to my layouts. Lot’s of fun ahead! Yay!

Happy weekend everyone!

Deco card

If you’ve seen one of my previous posts about the Elephant you might want to see the second part of the present 🙂
Originally it was planned as a card, but then it turned out a bit big and heavy, so I have decided to put it into the frame.
Quite some time ago I have seen one inspiring video tutorial on easy quilting cards, actually the technique was targeting cards from paper. But I went for fabrics that are the same as the elephant is made from, so they are a perfect match!

Here you can see the basic steps for how to get such quilting effect also with fabrics, hope you will get a general idea 🙂

Project Life | Week 9

Here is yet another experimental weekly spread 🙂 Normally, I don’t use much of baby pink colour, but as you can see I have won Wilna’s class and got so inspired by her tender style (you can get more info here http://www.wilnaf.com)! So it all just came up by itself, I just had to print a photo of her class banner..

I think this is my favourite week so far, I totally love how gentle and tender it turned out! For this spread I’ve used (and fell in love with) Sundrifter paper pad.. Seriously, that’s the best! It’s perfect for project life and not only, it’s so easy to combine papers and add embellishment!

IMG_0690

Here I’ve used my own carved arrow stamp, a wonderful stamp from Ali Edwards which says “amazing moments”, also this lovely camera sticker from Studio Calico Snippets collection.

IMG_0688

And now, my dear reader, this is the best part of this spread for me! And the starting point. As I’ve mentioned above I was sooooo lucky to win the art class from Wilna! I am not yet through with it, but I really really love it! It inspires! I am so excited about her style!

IMG_0689

This photo somehow reminds me on the wedding photography 🙂 As if it’s a bride’s bouquet. The tag says “Wednesday”, its the day when I made this photo of my  beautiful tulips.

IMG_0685

IMG_0695

This is the right side of the spread. And it’s documenting my weekend. Yes, half of the week is the weekend 🙂 That’s the time when I make most of the pictures, as during the week there is often not that much that can be documented, except for routine..

IMG_0693

This is a photo of me going early in the morning to the scrapbook shop which is not that far! And thats the best thing for the morning! Such a therapy 😉

IMG_0697

I like this little card featuring first flowers in my garden (and now it’s cold again.. brr-r-r).

IMG_0698

And this is the fun part. I have those cute speech bubbles stickers from Studio Calico and there was this one among others which I didn’t know how to use, I am not cowboy type exactly 🙂 So I came up with the idea to glue it to that poor cock on the photo 😉

Hope you enjoyed it!
Wishing you a wonderful and sunny weekend!

I am in the mood for sewing

photo(5)

I started sewing before I even knew what scrapbooking is, but lately I was doing mostly only scrapbooking. Time to change!
So here are 2 projects of mine I have been working on yesterday and today.

First one and the biggest (and the cutest one) is this elephant. Last weekend I’ve learnt that friends of mine got a baby boy! And I came across this elephant on a blog of retromama, so that was a perfect match!  I totally love this cute creature which also can be used as a pillow. It was made from 100% cotton fabrics and filled with cotton and love 🙂

This elephant will fly behind the Arctic Circle, to Tromso, Norway. That’s where little Sigve lives 🙂

smallIMG_0713

I’ve spent quite some time with embroidering the boy’s name “Sigve” (I am not the fastest embroiderer ever!), but here is the result!

2smallIMG_0706

And here is less interesting project, but more functional. I’ve got a new glove for fencing and I had to mark it somehow that it’s mine, so I came up with idea of embroidering an arrow (I like arrows from scrapbooking!). And man, that was hard! The glove is made from a special material which was nearly impossible to pierce through…

Hope you are having a more sunny Sunday than I do 🙂

Project Life | Week 7

Hi,

Finally I’ve managed to post the pictuers of the finished spread for the week 7. Those who follow me in instagram have probaly seen some sneak peaks from this week, so here are more details.
Honestly, I’ve already finished week 8 & 9 meanwhile, and this is yet to come.

IMG_0550

This is the left side. Mostly it’s about a short trip to Strasbourg, no sight-seeing photos this time, as it was too cold and I am visiting this place quite often, so I just hit my to-do list which included getting some awesome french cakes 😉
Also you can see my attempt to carve a rubber arrow stamp, which surprisingly turned out quite usable!

These are my favourite thickers from Amy Tangerine.

And this is the right side of the spread.
IMG_0517

Here you can see Eduard who had birthday (on valentines day, by the way) and his stinking present, I’ve got the most stinky french cheese I could find in Strasbourg 😀

IMG_0530

And here is the epic moment! The chair is finally fixed! I’ve bought a good chair, so I thought, but there was some kind of production mistake and it took lots of time to get a spare detail.

I like a lot german traditional houses, here I was just walking in the neighbourhood and making some pics 🙂

It’s a harvest time

This pear I’ve made resides at my office desk. I find it fits pretty well to my green zone.

Such a fun project! And it’s really easy to do. Shall I go for apples? Or better pumpkins! Halloween is coming by the way. I guess by the time I am finished with a pumpkin it will be already time to sing Christmas carols 🙂

So tomorrow is Monday again… Oh dear.. Well,  at least I will see my pear again 😉
