Project Life | Week 44

20140119-184241.jpg

Hello there week 44 ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually this is one of my recent spreads, some of you might notice Midnight Core Kit that I’ve used on this page together with couple of cards from other editions (do not ask me which edition this is, I’ve got a surprise mail from nice Katharina who has sent me some cards from different kits).

This spread was oh so easy to finish as I had a clear color pallet in my mind right after I printed out the mandarin photos! And that really works for me!

Advice number 5: choose 2-3 colors that go well with photos and that will help to limit the choice of papers and embellishment

Advice number 6: if you are short on time use ready project life cards, it saves time on cutting (rounding corners)

This layout was finished quite fast, if you take a closer look you won’t see many tiny details, so I was motivated to do the next one right away!
Hooray for minimalism!

Project Life | Week 41 + 42

20140119-183139.jpg

This lovely spread documents 2 weeks.
Advice number 4: combine weeks together to speed up the process or if there are not so many photos.

Check out other advices from the previous posts: week 38 and week 40.

Here I just had to document me meeting Wilna Furstenberg! I admire her as a scrapbooker, as a woman, as a mother!
It was a scrapbooking event organized by Scrapbook Werkstatt that took place in a really nice location! I am totally happy that I’ve managed to get there!
I normally take a color pallet from the photos, like here I’ve used pink/yellow colors just like the autumn leaves.

And this page is just about autumn, cello and me ๐Ÿ™‚

Project Life | Week 40

20140119-183843.jpg

Here is the week 40.
If you remember from the previous post, it was number 38. Yes, 39 is still missing ๐Ÿ™‚
Now it’s kind of cheating, cause I finished this week a little while ago, but never posted it, so here it comes!
I love nice photos I have there and it seemed to be a violence to embellish them, so I have kept them as they are.

Advice number 3: to speed up the process use 4×6 pockets and do not embellish photos that are speaking for themselves.

Check out other advices in the previous post.

On the bottom left photo you can see my attempt to write on the canon photo paper for selphy printer with a black pen. Failed! It never dries..
Note to self: never do that again!!!

Project Life Catch Up | Week 38

While I was writing my yesterday’s post I felt that I need to share my insights of the game called “Catch up with your project life”. And one of the reasons is simple: when I write things down my chaotic thoughts are getting organized and I get a clearer picture of what I could do better. Might be that some of you have the same problem, so why not share? I would be really happy to hear about your tips & tricks on how you are keeping up with your Project Life!

With this series of posts I would like to identify and collect some hints that can help me to keep up with my Project Life in the future.

Hello, I am Olga and I have problems catching up with my Project Life 2013.

So here is my week 38.
This was the week with photos already printed and arranged! I am really thankful to myself for that! What I’ve learnt during this year of Project Life is that it takes me lots of time to choose photos, plan the spread and print them out.
Back in September I bought Canon Selphy which became my savior! This week was filled because I had fun using the printer! And when I have fun I want to do it as often as I can!
So, that’s my advice number 1: use tools and supplies that I love and have fun working with!
I didn’t have to spend much time to finish it! Just choosing some PL cards, adding some journaling and embellishments.
Advice number 2: print photos as soon as possible and fill the pockets with them.

Nope, that’s not my boyfriend over there ๐Ÿ™‚
This part of the spread documents our team outing in France and many “back to..”, I was back to the orchestra after 1+ year break and back to the fencing club.

On the right side it’s more about the weekend, with harvesting my tomatoes and just visiting some nice places. And lying on my super small couch of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great week! And do not forget to document it ๐Ÿ™‚

My To-Do list for Catching up with Project Life 2013

Since it’s 2014 already and I still have some unfinished weeks in 2013 Project Life album I feel responsible and motivated to finish them! I knew that I was missing some weeks, but didn’t really know which, so I made a to-do list which is slightly prioritized, but I do not feel obliged to follow this exact order:

1. Identify the gaps (how many and which weeks are missing)
2. Finish December daily first
3. Finish November (I knew that it was missing completely and it was still fresh in my mind)
4. Print vacation photos (that includes Mallorca, Siberia, Alpes. Again, I knew that they are missing)
5. Finish vacation Pages
6. Clarify what have happened in August (that’s a blur month in my life :))
7. Finish the rest of the weeks

And so I started from the top.
I took a tiny calendar for 2013 with week numbers, my album and marked finished weeks in the calendar. That was a small to-do task, but how good did it feel to actually see what is there to be done! Or bad? No, I go for good! I saw that more than 20 weeks were missing (!). Luckily some of them were already prefilled with photos and only journaling and embellishment were missing, for some weeks I wrote the events that have happened in my planner so it’s quite easy to remember and track the days.
But there are some which a total frustration to be honest – due to some private events in my life which I didn’t really document. And I am not yet sure what I will do there.. I guess I’ll try to pretend being Sherlock and investigate ๐Ÿ˜€

By now I can proudly say that I succeeded with some of the to-dos:

1. Identify the gaps (how many and which weeks are missing)
2. Finish December daily first
3. Finish November (I knew that it was missing completely and it was still fresh in my mind)
4. Print vacation photos (that includes Mallorca, Siberia, Alpes. Again, I knew that they are missing)
5. Finish vacation Pages
6. Clarify what have happened in August (that’s a blur month in my life :))
7. Finish the rest of the weeks

I have finished quite some weeks by now, 6 to be precise, as well as December Daily (so far I didn’t photograph it yet, another to-do :)). During the next week I will upload the photos from 5 weeks of my 2013 one by one (actually 6 weeks, but 2 of them are together).
Visit my blog to check them out ๐Ÿ™‚
